Elon Musk is now the new “Technoking” (“king of technology” in literal translation) of the company. The announcement of the new position was made on Monday (15) by the electric automaker in a process with the United States Securities Commission.
Along with the billionaire, financial director Zach Kirkhorn also decided to exchange rank and is now the company’s “Master of Coin”. But even with the names unused for the new positions, both Elon and Zach “will still hold their respective positions as CEO and CFO”, according to Tesla’s statement.
Elon Musk loses title of “richest man in the world”
The Tesla CEO recently lost another title tough: after Tesla’s share price fell in February, Elon musk has stopped being the “richest person status on the planet”
Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, with a net worth of US$191 billion, now once again ranks as the richest man, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. The “Technoking” of Tesla is still number 2 though, with an estimated net worth of US$ 190 billion.
Despite having a setback in early 2021, Tesla was one of the best performing stocks of 2020, growing in stock value by more than 600%. While many people – and countries – have suffered severely from the crisis caused by Covid-19 pandemic, technology magnates such as Bezos and Musk and others have seen their wealth increase by more than US$ 360 billion during the period.
