In addition to reliving the Razr line with a more powerful model, the manufacturer also presented two new smartphones with premium construction and cutting-edge hardware
Motorola announced on Thursday (11), three new smartphones in China: the Motorola X30 Pro, S30 Pro and Razr 2022. The first model stands out for the 200 megapixel camera, while the second one brings one of Qualcomm’s best processors. The new version of Razr, on the other hand, bets on a more modern look and cutting-edge hardware, being quite different from the official folding in 2019.
The X30 Pro delivers a 6.67 inch curved OLED screen with resolution Full HD+, 144 Hz refresh rate, 1.200 nits of maximum brightness, HDR10+ and DCI-P3 color range. Still on the front, there is a small centralized “hole” that houses a camera dedicated to 60 megapixel selfies.
Inside, Motorola did not save and insert a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, allied to 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128, 256 or 512 GB of internal storage — the other models offer the same capabilities. To keep this set on, we have a battery of 4.610 mAh with 125 watt fast charging support, 50 watt wireless and 10 watt reverse.
There are three cameras in the rear: the main ISOCELL HP1 sensor of 200 megapixels and optical image stabilization, being the world’s first smartphone to offer this quantity; the ultrawide secondary of 50 megapixels (which also works as macro); and the 12 megapixel telephoto tertiary with 2x optical zoom. In video recording, Motorola’s new line top shoots up to 8K to 30 fps.
Other features of X30 Pro include: steam chamber cooling system to dissipate more heat, 5G, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, digital reader under the screen and MyUI 4.0 interface based on Android 12, which comes embedded in everyone.
Reason 2022: a great evolution
Motorola revived the Razr line after three years of the release of the first folding. The 2022 model finally enters the category of the tops of the line, failing to be an intermediary for, who knows, until “front debate” with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.
With an up-to-date look, Razr 2022 offers a 6.7 inch OLED internal screen with Full HD+ resolution, 144 Hz and HDR10+ refresh rate. Motorola removed the notch from the first model and adopted a small centralized “hole” that houses a 32 megapixel camera.
The OLED external screen, called “Quick View”, measures 2.7 inches and allows you to take selfies, control music playback, display notifications, check current weather and more.
The embedded processor is Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which represents a considerable improvement when compared to the predecessors, who used 700-series chips.
There are two cameras in the rear, being the main 50 megapixels with optical image stabilization, and the ultrawide 13 megapixel secondary with 121-degree field of view. Although two sensors seem “little” to today’s standards, the first Razr had only one.
The battery went through improvements and now sums 3,500 mAh — the predecessor delivered 2,800 mAh. Motorola’s new folding also reaches the market with stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, 5G and digital reader under the screen.
S30. Pro: a thin and powerful device
Motorola S30 Pro can be considered a more “simple” version of X30 Pro. In addition to bringing high-level specifications, it stands out for delivering a premium design and just 7.6 mm thick.
The curved OLED screen measures 6.55 inches with Full HD+ resolution, refresh rate of 144 Hz and HDR10+. The small centralized “hole” houses the camera for 32 megapixel selfies and video calls.
Inside, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 comes out of X30 Pro and enters Snapdragon 888+ which, although not the most powerful of Qualcomm, remains one of the best chips in the market.
In the camera department, there are three sensors positioned in the rear module, being the main 50 megapixels, the ultrawide 13 megapixel secondary and the depth tertiary of 2 megapixels.
4.400 battery mAh delivers 68 watt fast charging support. Other details include: digital reader under screen, USB-C port, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6e and Bluetooth 5.2.
